C More Entertainment is the leading premium Pay-TV provider in the Nordic region. The company offers a premium Pay-TV offer under the brand C More. C More’s bundle of channels offers a great variety of exclusive TV premieres of movies from top Hollywood studios as well as others, award-winning series and exclusive broadcasts from the best International sport leagues. The customer can also choose subscribing to sports only, or films and series only. All content is also available in the internet based play service C More Play.
CANAL+ Television AB (transmitting in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Denmark) was launched in 1997 by French CANAL+. In 2003, the two private equity firms, Baker Capital and Nordic Capital acquired 100% of CANAL+ Television AB from the media group Vivendi, through the jointly owned C More Group AB. At the same time CANAL+ Television AB was re-named C More Entertainment. SBS Broadcasting Group acquired C More in 2005. 2007 ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG acquired 100 percent of the shares in SBS Broadcasting Group. Dec 4th 2008 TV4 AB acquired C More from ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG. Today, TV4 Group owns 65% of C More and Telenor owns 35%. The company’s brand name changed from CANAL+ to C More September 4th 2012.
C More Entertainment provides a premium Pay-TV offer under the brand C More in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The premium TV concept is based on exclusive premium rights for sports, movies and series. C More is provided to subscribers through distributors for a monthly fee. Pay-per-view-services are also available. A total of 27 C More channels are offered in the four countries combined. In Norway and Denmark, C More also offers the channel CANAL 9, and the channel CANAL 8 is offered in Denmark. Subscribers have access to C More’s tv channels, and also the possibility to watch all of C More’s content whenever they choose on their computer, tablet computer or mobile phone at no additional cost, through the internet based play service C More Play. More than a thousand additional films/tv series are available on C More Play.
C More carries films from all major companies. A majority of the deals are exclusive, i e no other subscription service offers the films simultaneously. C More has film deals with among others Fox, MGM, Paramount, Disney, Universal, Sony, Warner, Nordisk Film and Non Stop. Svensk Filmindustri’s foreign titles are also offered, as well as a large selection of their classic Swedish films which are seen on the channel SF-kanalen. C More also offers the tv premiere of several Swedish films from other companies. All HBO tv series and tv films premiere on C More, as do selected series from Showtime, Universal, Turner, Warner, Starz and BBC. C More offers BBCs award winning children’s programs CBeebies and quality documentaries.
Filmnet, launched Fall 2012, is a distributor of C More Film via internet and mobile internet devices. Subscribers access C More’s linear and on demand offer of films and series.
C More offers exclusive transmissions from the biggest international and national sports leagues, particularly soccer, ice hockey and tennis. Among the largest leagues are. Elitserien (Swedish premier league ice hockey), Allsvenskan (Swedish premier league soccer),La Liga, UFC, the tennis ATP tour, equestrian sports, Elitserien speedway (Swedish premier league speedway) and STCC.
C SPORTS is a web tv service offering live games from e g Elitserien, Allsvenskan, the Dutch premier league, Serie A, Ligue 1, Europa League, the tennis ATP tour, Swedish premier league speedway and other motor sports. C Sports also offers highlights.
C More Entertainment is a platform neutral company and its programming is distributed to subscribers via satellite (DTH), cable, digital terrestrial transmissions (DTT) and IP-TV.
